After you enroll through our RXNT patient portal and book your appointment, you'll receive a secure link to join your video visit. At your scheduled time, you connect directly with Dr. Sheppard for a thorough one-on-one evaluation — all from wherever you are.

A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone, plus a stable internet connection. That's it. No special software download is required for most visits.

No. Per South Carolina telehealth regulations and federal law, controlled substances (such as opioids, stimulants, and benzodiazepines) cannot be prescribed via telehealth. If your care plan requires a controlled medication, Dr. Sheppard will work with you to identify appropriate in-person resources.

For the majority of conditions — absolutely. Telehealth is proven effective for sick visits, primary care, chronic disease management, medication management, health coaching, and more. Dr. Sheppard is experienced in delivering thorough, high-quality evaluations via video.

CGS Medical is a direct-pay, cash-pay practice. We do not bill insurance directly. However, we can provide documentation you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement depending on your plan. We proudly serve uninsured and underinsured patients with transparent, affordable pricing.

We accept credit card, debit card, Venmo, and Affirm. Affirm allows you to split your visit cost into manageable monthly payments — ask us about it when you book.
